The top is made with random match veneer, selected to express a wood grain rich in variation similar to solid wood. Veneer is the best material to use for this type of expanding top, and is lighter in weight than solid wood. A thin strip of solid wood is carved out for the tabletop edge, soft and smooth with the highest quality look and feel.

The legs are designed to gradually become slimmer towards the bottom. This feature is one reason that so many different chairs can be paired effortlessly with this table.
