Fredrik A. Kayser

Born in Bergen, Fredrik A. Kayser (1924-1968) grew up in a musical family and started a carpentry apprenticeship straight out of middle school. At 15 he drew his first dining room, which went into production at Viken Mobelfabrikk. He graduated from the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in 1945 and joined Rastad & Relling Tegnekontor, later also working freelance.

Kayser was known for his feel for materials and a rare sense of proportion, and many of his pieces became instant classics.

FAQs

When will my furniture order ship?

In-stock furniture typically arrives within 1–4 weeks of ordering, as furniture has longer processing and shipping times.

Items ordered together may arrive separately.

We’ll email tracking information when your order ships—please check your spam folder if needed.

Shipping addresses cannot be changed after shipment.

How does furniture delivery work?

Our delivery partner will contact you when your order arrives at your local hub to schedule delivery.

How much is shipping for large furniture orders?

Furniture shipping varies by brand.

Furniture shipping is calculated at checkout based on item weight, order size, and destination.

Additional fees may apply to larger orders or multiple shipments.

Eikund furniture delivery options include White Glove Delivery or Threshold.

White Glove Delivery - Flat Rate
Inside placement, unpacking, assembly & setup, and debris removal.

Threshold - Free Shipping

Items are left at the first sheltered or covered area.

I live in a remote or hard-to-access area. Can you still deliver?

In most cases, yes. Our furniture carrier can usually reach remote or harder-to-access locations within the continental U.S., although surcharges and longer lead times may apply.

If your address is very remote or has special access requirements, email orders@shopjapandi.com with your full shipping address and the pieces you are considering.

We can review your location with our carrier and let you know what to expect before you place your order.

Do you ship internationally, to Hawaii or Alaska?
Currently, furniture ships to the contiguous U.S. only.

How should I measure for delivery?

Measure all doorways, hallways, stairwells, and elevators along the path to your furniture’s final location.

Check these measurements against the furniture dimensions listed in inches on each product page, allowing extra room for packaging and turns.

Will the delivery team remove my existing furniture?

Our delivery partners cannot remove existing furniture.

Please arrange for its removal before your delivery date.

My building requires a Certificate of Insurance. Can you provide one?

Yes, our white glove delivery partners can provide a Certificate of Insurance for buildings that require it.

Once your order is ready to schedule, please let us know your building’s COI requirements and the contact information for your building or property manager.

We recommend sharing this as early as possible, so there is no delay on delivery day.

What happens if I miss my delivery appointment?

If you need to reschedule, contact us or your delivery partner as soon as possible.

A $195 redelivery fee applies to missed appointments.

What happens if my building or receiving warehouse is closed when the delivery team arrives?

If a building, residence, or receiving warehouse is closed or cannot accept delivery during the confirmed window, the carrier will return your order to the local terminal and mark the appointment as missed.

The carrier will charge for redelivery, which the customer will have to cover.

If the carrier arrives outside the scheduled window, they will cover the redelivery.

What if I need to reschedule my white glove delivery? Will there be a fee?

If you need to reschedule, reach out to the delivery partner as soon as possible.

When a delivery is still at the local hub, rescheduling is often straightforward.

If the delivery is within 48 hours, there will be a 50% redelivery charge.

If the delivery is within 24 hours, there will be a full redelivery charge.

We charge the customer what we are charged by the delivery company.

Can I switch from white glove freight to FedEx or UPS?

Large furniture pieces ship only through our freight and white glove partners because of their size, weight, and the level of protection needed in transit.

We are not able to switch those shipments to FedEx, UPS, or other small-parcel carriers.

Smaller items, such as accessories or swatches, may ship via standard parcel carriers.

Can I pick up my order from the local terminal instead of scheduling white glove delivery?

In some regions, our delivery partners allow customer or receiver pickup directly from their terminal.

This is usually best for trade clients, receivers, or customers who are very comfortable handling large items.

If you are interested in terminal pickup, reach out to us and we will confirm whether it is available in your area and what documentation you will need.

In certain cases, we may be able to reduce part of the shipping fee if you choose this option.

Can I return furniture orders?

Furniture purchases cannot be returned due to their size and weight.

If your item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, please email orders@shopjapandi.com within 48 hours of delivery.
