About Japandi Supply House
Japandi Supply House is an online destination for calming, consciously curated home and lifestyle goods. Founded in Chicago, Illinois, by Emily and Kevin Bishop, the brand was born during a time of personal upheaval and healing—from CTE-related trauma to severe depression. Their vision: to create a company rooted in sustainable materials, timeless Japandi design, and emotional wellbeing.

Meet the Founders
Emily Bishop
Designer, strategist, creator and co-founder of Japandi Supply House. Emily brings two decades of experience in design, branding, creating and marketing, shaped by her personal journey through severe depression and the search for peace at home.
Kevin Bishop
Former elite athlete, strategist, and co-founder. Kevin’s lived experience with presumed CTE shaped the emotional heart of the business—a call to design spaces that support healing and calm. With Kevin’s background in online marketing + brand strategy—he holds a master’s degree in the field—his expertise helped shape the foundation and framework of what Japandi Supply House would become.
Our Story
In 2020, the pandemic ended our 20-year creative agency. What followed was even harder: Kevin’s symptoms of presumed CTE intensified, and Emily faced a battle with severe, isolating depression.
We discovered Japandi design—minimal, grounded, intentional—and began rebuilding from the inside out. Japandi Supply House is the result: a self-funded startup with no outside investment and a mission to support emotional wellness through better living.
We will donate 1% of all revenue to causes that support mental health and emotional wellbeing—starting with KEXP, the global music platform that helped sustain us in our darkest times.
